We are looking for someone to work alongside our long-standing volunteer to help with Apple products and social media platforms.

Key duties:

  • To work alongside another volunteer to ensure the smooth running of each session
  • To provide a warm welcome to members and initiate group discussion/activities
  • To be a competent user of Apple products and various social media platforms
  • To attend any relevant training and two volunteer forums annually

Personal qualities most suited to the role:

  • Excellent social skills and the ability to encourage good group dynamics - being mindful of the social needs of sometimes vulnerable members
  • Ability to use own initiative as required
  • Ability to work regularly enough to ensure rapport with members
  • Good cultural sensitivity to the intersectional histories, needs and complexities of older LGBTQ+ communities
  • An understanding of the needs and rights of minoritised people and communities in relation to the Equality Act 2010 and being mindful and respectful of these needs and rights
  • To be committed to and competent in member, volunteer and organisational confidentiality and mindful of Information Governance policy and GDPR

Hours of volunteering and locations:

  • Mondays, 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
  • Opening Doors, Unit 4.1b, Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA
