Research Volunteer Are you interested in using or developing your research skills to support the work of Opening Doors’ Research Team across two projects: a London-wide project examining poverty, and research that we are carrying out in partnership with the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. We are looking for people who already have, or who are keen to develop their research experience to volunteer to support two projects looking into aspects of the lives of people over 50 from LGBTQ+ communities across London. What you would do - including some or all of the following: Desktop research, compiling directory of relevant LGBTQ+ organisations and groups and contacts. Conducting literature searches Contacting and engaging with organisations via email and telephone Arranging mail outs of flyers and posters. Liaising with councils and arranging accommodation for focus group meetings and listening exercises. Helping to analyse data What you will get: Developing or utilising research skills Developing or utilising administrative skills Developing or utilising communication skills Taking part in meaningful and substantive research which will amplify the voices of people over 50 from LGBTQ+ communities Supporting a vulnerable section of the community Meeting new people Enhance employment prospects As implied above we anticipate that this could be a development role so if you need support and training around some of these skills, that would be provided.
