Nicky was a talented artist, designer, craftsman, teacher and musician - and a cherished friend to many.

In 2017, three years after being diagnosed with Alzheimers, his life was further turned upside down by the sudden death of his husband Carlo - after 37 years together.

Opening Doors helped support Nicky through his bereavement and his developing condition by providing two wonderful befrienders - Giorgio and Myles - and the Rainbow therapy group.

We hope you will support this brilliant organisation to enable it to help other LGBTQ+ people with dementia.
