Trans and Non-Binary group

Third Thursday of every month - 6:30 to 8:00 pm

Our monthly social meet-up for our trans and non-binary members (in-person only) at a new LGBTQ+ space in London.

Meet the team

The group is led by Sara (above - the/them; she/her) - the Trans and Non-Binary Engagement Officer for Opening Doors. Sara organises activities, events and opportunities for our Trans and Non-Binary members to share space, develop friendships and build community.

They have a varied background in the charity and voluntary sector, including support work with adults experiencing homelessness and advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse. Before joining Opening Doors they were a community engagement officer and researcher focusing on people's experiences of health and social care services. Sara is also a writer, artist and gardener and is supported by the following trained volunteers:

Lucy (she/her) is a PhD student from Glasgow, studying photography. She is a passionate ally of the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for the emotional support and empowerment of the trans community and LGBTQ+ people with disabilities. In her spare time, Lucy enjoys visiting exhibitions around London and cold water swimming.

Noorulann (they/them) is a former LGBT+ officer for the National Union of Students (NUS). Their background is in supporting students within campaigning and activism roles and spaces particularly within their student's unions. In their spare time, Noorulann enjoys swimming, visiting city farms in London and hanging out with their cat.

Joe (he/him) is a psychology and counselling graduate from London. He is passionate about providing support to LGBTQ+ folk around mental health and identity. Joe enjoys collecting and listening to vinyl records and is an avid football fan.
